Pappi is here!

Chris's Dad came out this weekend to help with our fireplace that Chris is building! 

They were able to place the rock and flagstone on the seat yesterday.

Today they will work on the upper section

and then Chris will paint the fireplace and mantle.

Last night, Chris had playoffs for his softball team.

So, Nash and I ventured out to watch a game with Pappi.

What is Nash up to?

You would think by the expression of his face that we have been up to some serious stuff.  However, Nash just has been taking it all in:)

It is Halloween weekend, be prepared for a big picture update from our first Halloween with our pumpkin biscuit.

Baby Nash is 11 Months Old

11 Months

People say time flies by and it really does when you kids.

Nash you are growing so fast and Daddy and I are loving every minute of it.

Weight: 26 lbs

 Clothes: 18-24 month shirt

12-18 or 18-24 month pants

 Food and Bottle:

We have tried a few new things this month

Milk - You are not a fan of it yet. You take two sips and then throw it down. Once those two sips happen you look at the sippy cup and if it has milk in it you will not even bother with it.

New foods: Grilled Cheese, Graham Crackers, Chicken Pot Pie, Lasagna, Strawberries (make you break out in a rash) and Grapes

Your Favorites: Pasta, Pears, Peas, and Chicken

Your laugh is so funny, I love it when you laugh

We put you down for bed or nap time, we can hear you laughing and talking to yourself. We also hear you jumping up and down in your crib. 

 Teething:

You have been teething like crazy.

Four Teeth at one time!

Nasherson you have been grinding your teeth and it is driving your momma crazy.

We have had two bloody mouths so far from you banging your teeth against objects( ex: against your crib as you are jumping up and down)

Everything goes in your mouth and it has taught me to stay on top of my floors

 Sleep:

Your sleep pattern has been odd this month.

At the beginning of the month you were up three to four times a night

Now you have slept through the night for the past 5 nights

However, when you do wake up in the middle of the night we just give you 2 oz of formula and you are good to go!

 Routine:

Wake up between 5:45 - 7

We go on a walk between the time you wake up and breakfast

Breakfast @ 7:30

Bottle @ 8:45

Nap @ 9

Lunch @ 12

Nap @ 1

Snack @ 3:30

Dinner @ 6

Bath @6:45 

Bottle@ 7

Bedtime @7:15

 Movement:

You have been quite the explorer

When you are downstairs you crawl everywhere and stand up on anything

including doors and and walls.

I have built a barricade for a gate upstairs but you have figured out ways to get:

climbing over your dragon ball slide

Climbing over the wipe box that blocks the door in your house

You have started to let go and stand on your own.

Everyone tells us that you will be walking anytime now,

however I am loving the crawling stage

One more month and you will be a year old. 

I am not sure I am ready for you to be a year old.

You grow and grow and get so big everyday.

There are times I remind myself to put everything away and not get frustrated with you

and just play.

These times are times I will never get again.

Projects, Projects and more Projects

I know I have been slow to update the blog, but our little family has been busy.  Here is a recap of what our lives have been up too.

Nash:
We are starting to wean him off of the bottle.  This has been very interesting especially since he sleeps like this:

Needless to say his bottle is his comfort.  So we are have made it down to two bottles a day at this point. Morning and Night.  That is amazing since as of last week we were at four bottles a day.  I am just hoping we can keep it to two bottles a day for the next week.

To help with the transition of the afternoon bottles, we have started to have snack in the afternoon which consist of graham crackers and milk!!! yuuuuuummmmm

Nash has been waking up to some crazy hair lately.  This momma is having a hard time taming the hair, but I will find a way.

Mr. Nash has also been quite the explorer.  I have started to build barricades to keep him in the play areas, however he is learning to climb, bulldoze, or fall through my contraptions.

Chris:
My wonderful husband has been working on several projects for me around the house.  I think he secretly likes them because he can buy tools and mathematically figure out the measurements and have alone time in the garage building.  Below are some of the projects he has been working on! (Please remember all of these projects are still in progress)

Chris is also in the process of doing a couple of things regarding his new career.  We pray that they pan out and this is where God is leading us. We are trying to listen so hard and be patient to what He wants for us. We feel right now is just a waiting period. 

Heather:

I am currently on short term disability from work;  physically and emotionally healing from Scottie.  The short term disability has allowed me to join two Bible studies during the week. 

On Tuesday mornings, Nash and I go to a MOMs group where Nash gets to go to play with other little ones in a separate class and I get to have bible study with other Moms.  Nash has not made it through the entire time yet and I get paged every time, however we are working on it. Each week he gets a little better. I do not blame him though, it is during his nap time and we are getting rid of the bottle. So maybe eventually it will become his new normal and he will be able to enjoy it. During these two hours we are doing the "Wisdom for Mothers" by Denise Glenn.  Not sure how I feel about it, I will have to get back to you in a couple more weeks.

Wednesday mornings I am part of another Womens Bible Study.  This time, Chris watches Nash at home and I am able to go over to the leaders house and enjoy fellowship and me time without worrying about Nash and how he is doing.  The study we are doing is the Beth Moore "Believing God".  This study has been very challenging to me since it is about miracles and how we need to believe that God still performs today as much as he did in Bible time.  Almost every Wednesday I am in tears during the study, but I know God wants me to be there and learn from him and be in the fellowship of other women.  The women have been a blessing and it is so nice to know that you have strong women praying for you, that do not know you all that well.

Outside of Bible studies, I have been preparing for Nash's 1st birthday and doing little projects around the house.  Here is a picture of my picture wall I am working on.  These are the paper cut outs of my frames and other trinkets that are going up there.

Chris and I are still very much in the healing phase.  I find that as time goes on, reality sets in more and the emotions get harder. Not sure I have ever been on my knees(literally) more than I have in the last month.  There is this piece of art work at Hobby Lobby that states "You never stand taller than when you are on your knees" and I find that so opposite right now.  I feel as if I am back to when I was five years old and fell off of something and I am sitting in my Dad's lap burring my head into his chest and crying.

I know that in time, the wounds will not be so sharp and God will give us absolute peace but right now I would say we have times of peace and I am so thankful for those times.

Pumpkin Patch

Our little family headed out to the pumpkin patch this weekend.

We were supposed to go with our friends the Hettels, however we are in teething "heaven" at our house and Nash has been under the weather.

Finally, we sucked it up and went because we did not want all the pumpkins to be gone:)

Chris pulled Nash around in a wagon.

Nash was thrilled by it..he had his stroller face on so we knew he was enjoying.

 Stopped by some of the goats.

The little guy finally caught on that he needed to hold on for dear life while riding in the wagon.

The perfect pumpkin was found and we all celebrated!

There was a really cool spot to take pictures however...Nash had a different idea

The little white pieces all over the ground were much more interesting..

and tasted so good. 

It was a battle getting the hay out of his mouth.

After much fun was had, we decided to get the traditional pumpkin photo.

but once again the hay was way more interesting than Daddy dancing around.

 Nash did love sitting amongst the pumpkins and finally a little smile came out.

Hugs were in order for this pumpkin

and then more hay eating....which at that point we knew we needed to head home.
