Flagstaff

We were invited to spend the weekend up in Flagstaff, AZ
with some of Chris's Family's long time friends, The Brummetts.

The Brummetts live up the street from Chris's parents house in CA
and have built this amazing house in Flagstaff.

They live at the base of the mountain and are surrounded
by wild life and large pine trees.

Nash loved their carpet and I did too.

As stated above, this house was amazing.
I was in love and so inspired.
Linda you have a wonderful talent for decorating and hosting.

Arizona had gotten a big storm last week, so when we arrived there was snow still on the ground!
This was Nash's first time in the snow and I would say....

He was not a fan.

What he did love was their entry way.

Linda has this beautiful rug and Nash loved to sit, lay and play with the little cars

The last day we were there, the weather was beautiful.
So we spent some time outside taking in God's masterpiece.

Nash decided he wanted to walk around their circular drive way...

Try to play with a wheel or two

Thank you Brummetts for an amazing get away!
We will be coming back quite often;)

A Man and His Remotes

One of Nash's favorite "toys" is the remote.
We have tried everything.
We bought a toy remote.

We hid the remotes

But how can you say no....

When it is one of his comforts.

Nash's Fort

Chris is building an entertainment center upstairs in our loft.
Mr. Nash has decided to make it into his personal fort.

An Afternoon at the beach

While we were at my parents house for Christmas, we were blessed with gorgeous weather.
So we decided to head down to the sandy beach.
Nash loved the waves, people, and walking in the sand.

The South

For the past two days, I have been sitting in conference rooms, staring out the window at the beautiful rolling hills of Charlotte, NC. It is funny how God works.  The caterers strolled in bringing in a taco bar from one of my favorite restaurants Salsaritas. The hotel I was staying at sat above a town center that contained most of Chris's favorite restaurants, which had me texting Chris some of our little inside jokes about them. While I was there, I could not help but think about all the many states that Chris and I have had the privilege to live in.

I guess you could say, I have a special place in my heart for the South.  The southern twang, the hospitality, the seasons, the special people that live in those states, the churches and our memories.  A part of me will always want to move back out there and I honestly think a very small part of my husband would like to also.

However, we have settled down in a state, that truly I thought I would never end up in.  I am not sure how long we will be here but for now it is our home. Maybe in the future, God might lead us back out to the South but inn the mean time, visiting will just have to do.

Mr. Nash at 13 months old

Momma calls this month "The Month of Learning"
I cannot believe how much you have grown
It is amazing to watch you learn and start understanding things.

STATS:
Weight - 25 lbs
Length - 33.5 in
Diaper Size - 4
Clothes - Mostly 18-24 months
PJs - 2T

Nash is like his Daddy and loves his bats and any kind of ball.
However, he throws with his left hand which is odd.
We will see if it lasts.
Another little thing he does, is I will put all of the balls in their basket
and as soon as Nash sees the basket is full
he will speed crawl, almost tripping over his hands to get to the basket.
Then empty the basket with a vengeance.

You have loved your new Jump Jump. You gifts this year have had a theme.
Jump Jump, Bounce House, Toy Truck and Wagon
You started walking this month.
Well not really walking, more like waddling through five steps.
You walk along everything; the couches, walls, cabinets
but as soon as you feel uncomfortable you stop and kneel down.
You will get to full walking soon, I just know it.

 You still love your movies:
Tangled
Toy Story 3
Despicable Me
Princess and the Frog
 Food:
You are now completely on Table Food.
New Things: Gold Fish, Animal Crackers, Spinach, Lima Beans, Taco Meat and Salmon
Allergies: Carrots, Oranges, Strawberries and Omnicef (antibiotic)
 Firsts:
Haircut at a shop
Steps without a helping hand
Giving a high five
Saying "More"
Performing "So Big"
Sliding down a slide head first on his tummy
Putting the balls back into the ball popper
Putting blocks into the holes in your big block
 Favorite Toys:
Balls
Anything with wheels
Short Books
Tunnel
Stacking Cups
Remote Controls
Momma's Cell Phone
 Sleep:
You have moved to one nap a day.
This was on your own doing.
At my parents house you refused to take a second nap.
We would leave you up there for an hour and no such luck.
So I have transitioned you to an early afternoon nap.
You go down between 12:30 and 1 and sleep for about two hours.
You still do not sleep through the night.
We might get one night a week where you sleep through the night.
However, you wake up once and we give you three ounces and right back to sleep you go.

You are still in love with door stoppers
You will walk along our mud room bench to get to the door stopper on the back of the garage door.
We also went over to our friends house and you found all of their door stoppers.
It amazes me at how much you love them
I am happy to announce you are down to one bottle
this is your night time bottle.
The above picture is how you feel about it.
But you have been a trooper about it.
You still get empty bottles to suck on, since they are your only comfort.
 Personality:
You know what you want
You are very stubborn
You are very loving and like to give us kisses
You have a contagious laugh
You smile more now, however you still have stroller face
 Daddy Time:
Your Daddy has been watching you while momma is off at work.
Sometimes this will be just for the day or could be for four days while I go out of town.
You guys are great partners
and you love him so much.
You hate for your toys to be put away.
You will take them all out and throw them all over the floor.
It now has become a game between you and momma.
When you drink out of sippy cups you have to tip your head all the way back.
It is so funny
You are starting to become adventurous
I will watch you climb on your walker truck and then climb into the big blue bin
head first I might add.
You have started to let go of things and just take steps on your own
You want to crawl and explore everywhere downstairs

I am so excited for the next month.
I love watching you grow and learn.
