Season has Started

Baseball is in full swing and we are loving it.

It is funny how at the beginning of the season, you realize how much you miss the baseball music, the between inning games, the fans, the food (esp. the nachos) and watching your husband play. All this excitement starts to wear off, but at least for now it is great.

This past week Chris has been home and we are playing some old teammates of Chris. One of those guys, is my really close friend's husband, Cody Strait. I am sad that Missy was not able to make it out but hopefully we will catch up again through out the season.

If you would like to follow Chris, you can! Just click the link below and follow his team:)

Hope everyone is having a happy beginning baseball season!

Fun Mail

With Chris and I not living close to family, we usually do not get the birthday invitations or any fun mail. Well, a couple of weeks ago we got some fun mail. I love to get mail, it makes you feel loved. Here is a pic of the fun mail we got.

Back to Carolina

It is bittersweet that we are back in Carolina.

For Chris's career, the best would be to be back in Louisville, but Chris and I truly enjoy Raleigh. We have some great friends and some favorite places to go and AMAZING shopping. I have already visited my fav boutiques and dropped some money:) Been to our good friends house for dinner and joined them at Church on Sunday.

This time around we decided to stay where the team was staying, in case we had to get out of our lease early. Chris and I have never stayed where the team stays, so this is a first for us. Let me just say it has been interesting.

Also, this is the first time that my husband had to move our stuff. Well.....after he moved it he told me I had to get rid of a lot of it. Luckily for me, our friends Sunday School is having a yard sale this weekend, so I am going to donate!

Below are some pics of our sweet little one bedroom apt.

Earthquakes

It has been a day full of them. We had the biggest earthquake that San Diego has ever had today; a 7.2. My family and I are safe and sound, we had no severe damage to the house.

The tremble started around 3:40 and it started lightly. It felt like someone had picked up our house and was swaying it back and forth. Gradually, the shaking became stronger and more violent. My Mom, Dad and I were all upstairs in their bedroom. Once we realized what was happening, we took off. I do not think I have ever seen my Dad run that fast. We ran down the stairs and out to the middle of the street. We were not sure if the house was going to tumble down on us. (Come to find out later, from my husband who is driving to North Carolina at this moment, you are not supposed to go outside during the earthquake. You are supposed to go to the nearest doorway and stand underneath it, even if the quake is this big and the house will fall on top of you) The quake lasted about 45 sec, but to me it felt like forever.

Once things settled down and all the neighbors talked about the quake, we headed back inside. My Mom was on the phone with my brother; who had my little sisters at the movies. He said that the employees had evacuated them and they were on their way home. The chandeliers and blinds were still swaying back and forth from the quake when we walked back into the house. Pictures on the wall were all lopsided. But no severe damage.

Since the major quake we have had about 4 large aftershocks. I am not a fan of earthquakes. You do not know when they are coming and you have no control of where you are when they come or where you can go.

Hopefully the earth will stop trembling and I will be able to get some sleep.

Hope everyone had a great Easter and a less eventful one then ours.
