Miss Sadie is 1 Month Old

One Month

Has it really been one month!

I cannot believe you are a month old already

Our family feels complete with you.

We love you Sadie Girl!

Sleep: As you are getting older you have more awake time.  Right now, you go to sleep around 10 pm and sleep until 3 to 3:30.  Then after your feeding you go back to sleep until about 6:30 - 7.  After that you sleep about 3-4 hours and then wake up for a feeding. You are an amazing baby and very content.

Feed: You have been a dream baby around feeding. You are very efficient during your feedings. Daddy and I had you taking one bottle a feeding from day one and you have taken to both breastfeeding and bottle feeding like a pro.  You eat every 3-4 hours and then in the evening you tend to feed more.  You are eating about 2-4 oz a feeding.

Weight: 10 lbs 5 oz....that is almost 2 lbs in one month. You are in the 60% percentile for weight

Length: 22 in tall which is 2 in from birth.

Milestone: You had many firsts this week.

You can lift your head and turn it both directions. You are very strong and very ahead of your game, girlfriend.

We went to Noni and Papa's house for the first time. Noni came and picked us up and we spent a week down at their house.  This was the first time you spent some time away from your Daddy, but you did great! While we were there we went to the San Diego zoo.

You have started looking at us and turning towards our voices.

I have started to exercise this month and love this flower hat:)

It was the first time to dress your brother and you up for a fun holiday - St. Patricks Day

Your paci...you are very particular about it. If we insert it into your mouth and you do not want it you will gag and sometimes throw up.

Diapers: You only wore NB diapers for the first week and then we moved to size 1 and we use sensitive diapers. 

Mommy Moments:I am trying to soak in all of you and every moment we have alone together. I go back to work in 4 weeks and not looking forward to it. I just want to snuggle your sweet face all day long.

Sadie Mills Part 2

One of the best things about being back in CA is being around family again.

Sadie had many people waiting for her arrival.

Once you arrived and beautified by the nurses, it was time for family to meet you.

Auntie Divo, Auntie Maddie, Auntie Micah and Gran 

were all waiting outside the door for the wonderful news of your arrival

Everyone was so excited!

After all the family was able to meet you, Daddy went with you to the nursery

to get all your measurements and first bath.

We were finally moved to our recovery room and Uncle Hunter made it to the hospital to see you.

The nurses had to make this sign so that all hospital personnel knew that your face was bruised

and you were not blue because you were not breathing...scary I know

I was scheduled for an induction the morning of Thursday Feb. 21,

however Miss Sadie decided she was going to make her debut when she decided to.

My contractions began at 3 AM Thursday morning and by 4:30AM

I woke Chris up and explained to him what was going on and that I was going to jump in the shower.

While I was in the shower, I asked Chris to start timing the contractions.

They were about 3-5 minutes apart and then my water broke in the shower.

Here we go!

Luckily, we were planned to go in for induction later that morning, so my Mom was already at our house this morning.

Chris and I headed to the hospital as she got Nash ready for school and fed until Pappi could get there to take over.

Chris's Mom met us at the hospital.

My Dad, grandparents and sisters got in the car and drove up from San Diego.

 

Thank goodness Sadie decided to come on her own because we got the last Delivery room

and come to find out the hospital was going to have to push out my induction date!

All of us got settled settled into the room.

 The nurse checked me and I was at a 3-4 cm dilated.

Naturally, I requested an epidural as soon as I could get it.

Miraculously, it worked this time:)

 When we made it to 6 cm, the nurse gave me some pitocin to help my body to progress.

2 hours later I was ready to start pushing.

I only pushed for 20 minutes but it was very difficult.

Miss Sadie was stuck and coming out sideways.

Both nurses has to get on the bed and push on my stomach to help the doctor to get Sadie out.

Once she came out, the cord was wrapped around her neck and she was a blueberry.

Let's just say the grandmothers were very nervous.

As the time went on she started to pink up, but she was bruised from being stuck.

Her left side took most of the beating.  Her little eye and ear were bruised for many days.

After she was weighed and cleaned up, Sadie had a lot of family there to greet her into the world.

Baby #3 Update - 37 Weeks

Size of Baby: Weighs is a 6 1/3 Lbs and about 19 inches long.
Total Weight Gain: 29 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Almost living only in Chris's Clothes
Gender: It is a GIRL...Sadie Mills
Movement: Her movements are more slow and more rolling and stretching
Food Cravings: Taco Bell, Dr. Pepper and Sweet Tea
What I Miss: Feeling like myself
Sleep: The past week I have been sleeping great. Wake up at 5 every morning and cannot go back to sleep
Symptoms: Heartburn, swelling and tons of braxton hicks and back labor
Best Moment This Week: Finally getting her bumpers and almost completing her room
What I Am Looking Forward To: Getting my work ready for my Maternity Leave and that it is Feb!
