Santa 2013

Seeing Santa this year was so much fun.
Nash is at an age where he is starting to understand the holiday concepts.
At home, we have been explaining how Christmas is Jesus's birthday.
And Santa likes to help celebrate it.
When we do the Advent Calendar he counts down how many days til Jesus' Birthday!
He also likes to tell us the other birthday's in Dec.

When we saw Santa, Nash was very excited.
He went up to him and sat on his lap.
He excitedly told Santa what he wanted;
"A big boy bike like Shelby's and Spencer the train"
then he told Santa Sadie wanted a doll.
Santa said ok and asked him if he was good.
Nash told him he made good choices.
Then he asked if Santa was going to come to our house for Jesus's birthday.
And to help blow out the birthday candles.
Santa did not know how to respond, but I was teary eyed.
My child understands who Christmas is about!
That makes this Mama's heart very happy.

Thanksgiving 2013

The Kids and I spent the week at my parents house before Thanksgiving.
They love to be at my parents house.
Noni got Nash this robot fish and he wanted the fish in the bath every night.

A favorite room at my parents house is my little sister Micah's room
The kids love her mirror and the colors

Micah and Nash bought an art project that consisted of painting little wooden cars.
I think Noni did most of the painting:)

On Wednesday, I was able to meet one of my best friends at the mall.
We met her first year of marriage and our first year of dating.
Now her three kids and my two kids later
here we are meeting up and trying to talk between the
Do not stick the cars in the water
Do not run around the fountain
Do not fall in
Don't put that in your mouth
Ohhhh the life of motherhood.

On Thanksgiving morning,
I got the kids up and dressed.
My goal was to get a picture of them together.
This was very difficult and not successful.

One looking

Now the other one looking

Both of them looking but not happy

The kids loving on Daddy

How Nash likes to eat his snack at Noni and Papa's
on the step stool

Thanksgiving morning tradition is the Thanksgiving parade
We watch it while eating breakfast
When we see the Rockettes we call my Gran to tell her they are on
(I have done this for as long as I can remember)
Nash enjoyed the parade more than I thought he would
 Sadie watching the parade

My Parents invited some of their friends over for Thanksgiving.
They have a son that is in the Marines and he brought a buddy.
It was nice to have a table full of people along with food.

We decided to fry the turkey this year.
The best part of frying a turkey is you get to fry all different things!
 The girls:)
 My family
Again not looking and not the best picture

Time to carve the Turkey

Someone could not wait for the food

Maddie and the table

A Tradition at the Smith Household is to decorate for Christmas
on Thanksgiving Weekend
Nash loved riding his bike by the tree
Yes Noni and Papa let Nash ride his bike in the house.

He wanted to see the star up close.

It was a great Thanksgiving!
Holidays are so much more fun when you have kids.
