Changes

Change is happening in the Denove household.
And for us; change = prayers

Chris and I drove to LA on Monday night so that Chris could go see a specialist about his shoulder.  It was not good news.  He has torn his bicep tendon and labram.  Which means surgery once again.

We are not sure what this means for us.  At this point we know we will not be breaking camp for the season.  We also know that we will be here in AZ for at least the next 3-4 months if not longer, to rehab and build strength in his shoulder.
What does this do for Chris's baseball career?
Two things:
He rehabs and plays next year as a free agent
or he retires.
Both options are very scary for us and Chris and I are not taking them lightly.
We will be spending a lot of time in prayer and having a lot of heart to heart conversations.
It is funny how God works: I think I am more scared for baseball to be over then Chris is and I am the one that has been wanting it to be over for a long time.
It would be wonderful if you would join us in prayer and ask God to provide guidance to what our next step should be.

But I guess the flip side of having to stay in AZ for the season and off-season is
We BOUGHT a HOUSE!!
Chris and I felt that God was leading us to buy a house while we were in AZ.  We went back and forth about it, because I have always wanted to live in a cold climate area. However, I am not willing to live too far from family so.....we ended up buying a house in the hottest climate region;)
It is in the neighborhood that we live in for Spring Training called Verrado.  When you are here you do not feel like you are in the dessert.  It is amazing. The streets are lined with trees, kids are outside playing in the yards and there is grass!
Our house is being built and they break ground sometime in the next week! I will be sure to take some pictures.
It is 5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths....so if anyone wants to come visit we would love to have the company.
Chris and I are over the moon about having a place of our own.  We will be married for five years this year and with in those five years we have lived in 7 states and 10 different places. It will be so nice to be able to unpack and not think about packing our things every year.
I will be able to unpack my china and many boxes that we have not opened since our wedding!

More Big News!
Mr. Nash has started eating real foods.  We started him off with rice cereal a couple of weeks ago.
And two days ago we went to the doctor for his 4 month check up.

Nash weighs 16 lbs 11oz 70%
Height 25 1/8 in 40%
Head 16 5/8 30%

Just for reference at birth he was:
Weight: 6 lbs 4 oz 8%
Height: 18 1/2 in 10%
12 5/8 3%

So he is moving up in the charts!! We are so proud of him:)
The doctor also said not to worry about his head; just try to keep him off it when he plays and sleeps.
Then Dr. Saul said the magic words: he can start on baby food!

So we went out and bought Nash some peaches.
We mixed it with his rice cereal and here is the result

The first bite was not received to well....but after that he ate the whole bowl!
He loves his food...just like his Daddy;)

Another new development.
Tummy Time does not equal screaming time anymore:)
Nana has a firetruck that Nash fell in love with.
It made tummy time more enjoyable.
Now if Noni would just send the snail that she got him,
he might enjoy tummy time even more at home.

A bonus to going to LA was we were able to see family.
Auntie Divo, Uncle Bryan, Joella and Leyton came over one night for dinner.
Nash loves his family!

One of the best things at Nana's house is bath time!
It is almost like being at a spa.
Nash gets to look out the window at the pool and all the birds and grass while he is taking a bath.

We just love this little boy!

With all the changes that are happening in our little family, we know they are what God wants to happen. He blessed us with this little gift and as long as we keep listening to him, he will continue to bless our family.

First Minor League Game

Minor League games started this weekend and some of our friends were out at the game.
With Chris's arm not feeling that great, he did not play in the game but Nash and I ventured out to see some of the girls.

One of my close friend, Stacey Yarbrough was able to make it out to the game. Her husband plays for the rockies this year. She was around when we found out we were pregnant for Nash and it was so nice for her to finally meet him!

Nash was not thrilled about his hat once again
He really liked Miss Stacey

Sieber Visit

Our weekend was full of family and fun. Chris's sister and Brother in Law came out to visit us with their two kids and Chris's parents also made the drive. We love having family around and are always surprised when the time comes for them to go home. Unfortunately, I did not take a lot of pictures with my camera and forgot to get the pictures off of my Pop in Laws camera. (I love taking picture with his camera, because his lens is so amazing!) However, enjoy the pics I do have.

Michael, Papi and Nash
Our Nephew is quite the little baseball player
The boys played a little out in the park in our front yard
Michael has an amazing swing and was wearing out Uncle Chris with chasing the balls!

Smith Family Spring Training Visit

My Family came out for a very quick trip which was really nice. We went to the night game and enjoyed the surroundings and food. Spring Training food is so good.
Then the next day we met Danielle and Ryder at the fountains in our neighborhood and splashed around. Nash just watched and ate:)

Opening Day Spring Training 2011

Opening Day was a cold one! I had to bundle the little man up. He was not too fond of his hat but at least he stayed warm all game!

Leyton and Joella did not seem to mind the cold. It just made their ice cream not melt as fast
Want to see a little boy very happy.....
He loves his ice cream

Oh yes there was baseball going on also.....

My husband is the one in the red hat, red sweatshirt and sunglasses
Do you see him?

Nash enjoyed being loved on by the other wives.
After the game a very proud Daddy came to get his son.
and to love on his wife
Then just like it started it was over and we watched our Daddy/Husband run off the field
