4th of July Weekend
Then the town is also home to NCAA headquarters, which was really cool for me. Especially since Chris and I both did college sports! My friend Staci Sutton and I went in and toured the Hall of Champions. How cool it was to see all the colleges and all the sports represented.
This was outside the Hall of Champions
Sorry for the blurriness but they had a sign for Coach Wooden
When it cooled down to a cool 90, we headed down to the field and there were people all over downtown. It was sooo cool. They were sitting with their lawn chairs and blankets on the river waiting for the fireworks. Brought back memories from when my parents and grandparents and us kids would watch the fireworks on the river in Tulsa!
Chris at the game on the 4th
After the game, the Suttons and us went out to eat at the Capital Grille for a great steak dinner. When we got back to the hotel room, this was the site I saw when I looked down. Oh yes my feet and legs were swollen from the heat and being on them all day!
Hope everyone had a great 4th!!!

Exciting News while being pregnant
Around 1 am, Chris finally made his way to bed. But before he climbed into bed he checked the phones to see if anyone had called. We had 8 MISSED calls.....several on my phone and a bunch on his. They were from his coach (Skipper, Manager.....whatever you call them in Pro Ball). We were heading to Louisville!!
There went my quiet night and catching up on sleep. I was wide awake. The lights flipped on, lists were made, and packing began.
What were we going to do? We had two cars, I am pregnant, Chris has to be in Louisville by tomorrow evening, I am flying out to CA in a week for my brother's College Graduation tickets were already bought, I have a doctors appointment on the 16th and Chris's parents had just bought tickets this morning to come see us in Raleigh in about a Month.
Chris called to see if he could drive his truck up to Louisville and he could!! One thing off the worry list.
Now what did he need for the next three weeks. An air mattress, clothes, all his baseball stuff, medicine, toiletries, sheets, pillow, blanket, coffee maker, coffee beans and anything else we could fit in his truck.
Plans were made fast. I would stay behind, hire movers, get out of our lease, call a new apartment (luckily I had one already set up from spring training), call the Internet people to cancel, and call our parents.
Normally, I pack everything myself, we hire movers to load it up and our parents come out and help us drive the moving truck to its new destination. This time it is different. I am PREGNANT!!! That means no heavy lifting. Luckily, we did not unpack very many things and most of the heavy stuff is all packed up. But Chris and I are going to have to hire movers for the whole process this time. I guess it is a perk of being pregnant, not having to deal with the move, just hurts the pockets a little bit.
About 2:30 am we finally hit the sack. We laid in bed and prayed. Prayed for safety, prayed for strength, prayed for wisdom, and prayed God will continue to bless our house. Chris fell asleep right away, me on the other hand was up just thinking about everything that is going to happen in the next month. I am not sure I got any sleep. The alarm went off around 7 and Chris got up. I followed slowly behind him. We packed his truck up and off he went. I walked back up the three flight of stairs, waved to Chris from the window and then looked at my apartment. It was a mess. And the tears just started to pour down my face. Most likely because of pregnancy hormones but my husband was leaving and I would not see him for three weeks.
These are the rough moments in Baseball.

Rain Out
Around 4:30 yesterday afternoon I receive a text from my husband "Game Cancelled.....want to go to Flying Biscuit"........my reply "YES!!!!!!!"
There was excitement for two reasons: a whole night with my husband and dinner at one of my favorite restaurant's The Flying Biscuit.
I order hot chocolate...not that it was cold outside but I wanted to pretend, Chris orders coffee. The waitress brings out the warm biscuits with the apple cinnamon jelly, ohh how delish and we indulge.
Our food came and it was melt in your mouth delicious. I ordered the Flying Egg Benedict on a whole wheat english muffin, turkey bacon and fruit. Chris ordered eggs over easy, potatoes and a small stack of pancakes.

Friend Visiting
One of the baseball wives that I met during Spring Training, drove down from Louisville to visit. We have grown really close since Spring Training and it has been great hanging out once again.
Staci and I have enjoyed many great meals at lots of fun restaurants, amazing shopping (with a stop at Nordstroms which we both have missed dearly) and honestly just hanging out and catching up.
Unfortunately, we have not taken any pictures, but maybe we will tomorrow. I will be sad when she leaves tomorrow, but glad that I know we can chat anytime and know our paths will cross once again in the baseball world.

Back to Carolina
For Chris's career, the best would be to be back in Louisville, but Chris and I truly enjoy Raleigh. We have some great friends and some favorite places to go and AMAZING shopping. I have already visited my fav boutiques and dropped some money:) Been to our good friends house for dinner and joined them at Church on Sunday.
Also, this is the first time that my husband had to move our stuff. Well.....after he moved it he told me I had to get rid of a lot of it. Luckily for me, our friends Sunday School is having a yard sale this weekend, so I am going to donate!
Below are some pics of our sweet little one bedroom apt.
