About 6 weeks ago, while the babysitter was watching Sadie,
I get a call from the sitter saying Sadie had thrown up.
I rushed home and was very concerned that we had been hit by a stomach bug.
Nope!
Much worse.
It was Hand Foot and Mouth.
This is a virus that is highly contagious for little ones
and the best way to describe it is it looks like chicken pox but with blisters.
These blisters appear on the kids hands, feet and in their mouths.
They run a fever with this virus and there is nothing you can do to help them
MISERABLE
for all parties involved.
The spots started to appear on Sadie's hands and feet.
As the days went on they continuously got worse
and started to spread to her legs and arms
Eventually all of her hands and feet were covered in blisters
however she never really got any in her mouth.
After the virus was done spreading, Sadie started to shed her skin on her hands and feet.
Sort of like a snake.
It was not fun.
Six weeks later we are still losing finger and toe nails.
This is a nasty virus.
Fast forward 5 weeks from the time Sadie caught the virus.
Nash comes home with a fever and low and behold;
it is hand foot and mouth!!!
I was about to shoot myself.
However, his pretty much was in his mouth and only a few on his hands and feet.
Nash swore the band-aid on his chin helped his owies on the inside
Building Blocks always helps when you do not feel well
so does wearing a cape while watching TV
and then three days later Sadie caught Hand Foot and Mouth again.
This time it was just like Nash's mostly in her mouth.
So this house has had its share of Hand Foot and Mouth.
I have now brought in the cleaners, thrown out pacis and disinfected all the toys.
We do not need this virus again.
