All Star Break

So it is the All Star Break....which means we get three full days of no Baseball. Yesterday, I decided to take the day off, so that Chris and I could enjoy a full day off together.

After the doctor's appt, we went out and shopped. We looked at everything and only bought one thing. This cute little pair of overalls from Janie and Jack. Our first little outfit, for our little man.

Then after a long day of shopping and excitement we took a nap and then made dinner. It tends to be the dinner of the All Star break. Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs with Grilled Asparagus, Mashed Potatoes and Salad. It was delicious.

After dinner, we just watched some big brother and enjoyed each other's company:) Hope everyone else had a great day.

It's a........

BOY

We are having a Boy. I swore the little guy was a girl, but he made his presence very known to us this morning. I would post the pic but Chris said that his son's pee pee will not be known to the world;) As for the name....well....there are lots of discussions. Chris is on the normal name side while I am on the complete other side and want a more unique name.

For now....we are simply soaking in our little boy who loves to move and wave to us.

Show Us Your Life: Favorite Bible Verses

Over at Kelly's Korner, she does a post every Friday that is titled Show Us Your Life. I never participate in these, but I always read them. Today's topic is Favorite Bible Verses and I really liked today's topic because people have sent me several bible verses to help Chris and I in hard times and happy times. I thought I would share with others, in hopes that they touch them also.

Our family verse:
"Rejoice always, Pray continuously, in everything give thanks. For this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." ~ 1 Thess 5: 16-18

A verse that was given to us from a dear family friend, when we were struggling with infertility:
"I will climb my watchtower now, and wait to see what answer God will give to my complaint. And the Lord said to me, 'Write my answer on a billboard, large and clear, so that anyone can read it at a glance and rush to tell the others. But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!'" ~ Habakkuk 2:1-3

A prayer and promise for a heart that desires to be a parent:
"I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of Him" 1 Samuel 1:27

Baby Update: Week 15

Far away Pic
Close Belly Pic - Do not think it has changed much:(

How Far Along: 15 weeks
Size of Baby: About 4 inches long 2.5 oz. He or she is about the size of a naval orange.
Total Weight Gain: 3 1/2 lbs
Maternity Clothes: I bought some shorts from Nordstrom for 15 dollars in the Brass Plum section that has a maternity band. It is great that the style right now adapts to maternity figures:)
Gender: Still have awhile until we find out.
Movement: I can tell when the baby changes sides, I can't feel it but can feel from the outside.
Food Cravings: Brownies
What I Miss: Being able to go on walks and not feeling like I am going to pee every 5 minutes
Sleep: Extremely Vivid dreams
Symptoms: Acne and my feet are hot and swollen at night (Could be because the weather is out of this world hot and humid....I am made for the cold and not 90+ weather and 90+ humidity) Thank God for AC!
Best Moment This Week: Chris coming home and feeling my belly and noticing that the baby moved sides with me
What I Am Looking Forward To: Our doctor's appt on Tuesday

4th of July Weekend

We spent the 4th of July in Indianapolis, IN. Chris had a game on the 4th and then a double header on the 5th so I decided to travel with him. Indy is only 2 hours from our house and we carpooled with another couple from the team, which made it even better!

Downtown Indianapolis is such a cute town. It reminds me a lot of Oklahoma City. They have a man made river that runs through part of town and you can rent paddle boats and bikes and other fun things.
Then the town is also home to NCAA headquarters, which was really cool for me. Especially since Chris and I both did college sports! My friend Staci Sutton and I went in and toured the Hall of Champions. How cool it was to see all the colleges and all the sports represented.

This was outside the Hall of Champions

Sorry for the blurriness but they had a sign for Coach Wooden

That night we got ready for the game and the 4th. It was so hot and sharing a stadium with 15,327 other people did not sound that wonderful to Staci and I, so we watched part of the game from Chris and my hotel room. That is right this is the view from our hotel.

When it cooled down to a cool 90, we headed down to the field and there were people all over downtown. It was sooo cool. They were sitting with their lawn chairs and blankets on the river waiting for the fireworks. Brought back memories from when my parents and grandparents and us kids would watch the fireworks on the river in Tulsa!

Chris at the game on the 4th

After the game, the Suttons and us went out to eat at the Capital Grille for a great steak dinner. When we got back to the hotel room, this was the site I saw when I looked down. Oh yes my feet and legs were swollen from the heat and being on them all day!

Hope everyone had a great 4th!!!

Feeling the Love

A huge shout out to my Sister n Law, Divo and Chris's Cousin's Wife, Iris, for sending me clothes for my ever growing belly.

Divo has sent me one box of her clothes that she wore with both of her children and then she just sent me another box that Iris gave her. It is not only fun to get mail but is even better when they are items that you are desperately needing!!!

Thank you girls, from the bottom of my heart!!!!! This is wonderful and I feel so loved even though we are on opposite sides of the country.
On another note....the HEAT is back and as I have stated before, is not my friend. However, this little thing called a Diet Cherry Limeade from Sonic helps soothe the heat in a small way. I drove thru and got myself one while running errands today. It was blissful:)

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July! I am going on the road to Indianapolis with Chris for the 4th and will have some fun with him and another couple.....pics to come soon!

Being Pregnant.....A few Surprises

Pregnancy is not what I expected at all. Maybe because I have dreamed about being pregnant for so long, I think I had a fantasy of what it would be like. Even though I have watched my two sister n laws go through two pregnancies each and close friends go through pregnancies.....I was still surprised. Below are some of the surprises I have encountered:
  • How the queasiness hangs around all day long and how close my relationship with the toilet has become;)
  • Not enjoying the foods I love....actually not enjoying food at all
  • How HOT I feel all the time....my poor husband and all visitors freeze when they are in our house
  • Hating showers and baths, which I might add I use to LOVE....maybe it has to do with the hotness I feel
  • The ugliness feeling......a waitress yesterday told me she could not believe I was 14 1/2 weeks pregnant because I did not look pregnant and I wanted to scream to her "I feel like an elephant...do you think I am this fat all the time?".....poor gal she was just trying to give me a compliment...I think
  • The Headaches
  • My Boobs.....I mean for me they are huge...you are talking to a girl who's bra use to be just band aids....now I have to wear a bra...which I might add is not fun in this heat
  • How fast my body is changing
  • How slow the time is going by....this could be because I am counting down the days until we find out if the little blueberry is a girl or boy....my gut is it is a girl....but we will see
  • How many of my clothes do not fit...mostly due to my boobs, hips and butt
  • Crying at the drop of a hat....I am not an emotional person normally but now the littlest things set me off....and they may not even be related to me; for instance...we had baptisms yesterday at church and I cried...really? I did not even know those people
  • How much my Husband loves my pregnant body and loves talking to my belly
  • How the little bundle has been nicknamed Blueberry by my husband and my family....Fun Fact: When I was a little girl, I had a baby doll (which is still sitting in my closet at my parents house) that wore a little blue jumper and I named her Blue Baby....I guess I am just carrying on the tradition;)

These are some of the things that I did not expect and please do not take it as I am not grateful for this pregnancy because I am. I am in awe everyday of God's little miracle He gave Chris and I. Hopefully, you find these humorous and enjoy my ride through this pregnancy.
