As Chris and I start to prepare for little Nash to arrive, we had to make a big decision. Chris's truck cannot fit a car seat. It is a single cab and it is just not practical for our growing little family.
So we made the decision to sell the Old Blue Truck. This truck has been with us from the beginning. Our whole relationship, through college, all the states baseball has taken us to.....plenty of road trips. It was part of our family.
As we dropped the truck off, memories flooded my brain and everything we have experienced with the truck rushed in. Once all the paper work was done and the truck was driven away, tears rolled down my face( it does not help that I have pregnancy hormones). I know it sounds silly, but so much change is happening in this Denove household.....the little things are turning out to be the hardest.
Now all we have left are our license plates, which my Husband is taking after my Dad and keeping them for sentimental reasons. (My dad has kept all the license plates that he has had over his marriage.....more than 6 states)
On the back of the plates it now reads in permanent marker; what car it was, when and where it was bought and when and where it was sold.
I guess the changes are beginning. A new and bigger truck will be purchased when we get back to CA. But the old truck will be missed dearly!

We will miss you Old Blue Truck. You took great care of some special cargo that I love very much.
This brings back a memory when my husband had to get sell his car when we were expecting our first child. It was a Dodge Stealth and had a minimal back seat. Boy he tried to get that baby seat in anyway he could (before I delivered naturally), but there was no way. It was a sad day for us too. Glad he saved the plates though, I like that idea! Before you know it you'll have a whole new set of memories with a new vehicle and a little one riding along inside. Trust me we have quite a few humorous ones... :-)
