Baby Nash is 3 Weeks Old

Pumpkin Biscuit you are 3 weeks old today. You change and grow everyday. As much as I love it, I just want you to stay the size that you are right now. You are extremely snuggly and very dramatic with your hands and faces. Both your Nonnie and Nana say that you are one of the noisiest babies they have ever known. You make noise when you are sleeping and while you are awake. This week you have just started to spit up and your Dad and I go through a load of laundry a day just for you.

Sleep: Sleep has not changed this much this week. You sleep for 3-4 hours at a time and great during the day. However, I wonder if the nights just seem worse because we are dead tired and all your sounds and awake periods are just magnified. You are in love with this yellow blanket that your Auntie M&M gave you. Anytime you have it you fall asleep when it is wrapped around you. You have been sleeping in your bed next to our bed more often now. However, I still have those Mom moments when I wake up just to make sure you are breathing.Feed: You are still great at breast feeding and taking a bottle. You are eating more and for longer periods of time. I just hope I can keep up with you. But with every feeding comes spit up now. We try to hold you up right for 1o minutes afterward but nothing seems to work, you still spit up. I thought when this time came your Dad would be like Vince Vaughn in Four Christmas's regarding the spit up, but he has handled it pretty well.
(We have currently been eating a lot of take out)

Weight: Last Friday you weighed 6 lbs and 14 1/2 oz. You gained 9 oz in 7 days. Good Job Buddy!

Length:He did not measure your length but you are still in NB clothes and some 0-3 months but you look like you are drowning in those clothes.

Milestone: You had many firsts this week.
  • You and I went out by ourselves many times. This was quite the accomplishment. Our first outing was to the Thousand Oaks Mall to buy your cousins some Christmas Presents. Later in the week we went to Target and the grocery store.
  • Dad and I left you for the first time with your Nonnie. We ran to Nordstroms to get your Dad his birthday present, Ugg Outdoor Slippers and to Best Buy to buy a camera case for the new camera.
  • Then later in the week, we left you with your Nana and Pappi to go out on a date for your Dad's birthday and we went and saw Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows Part 1
  • You had your first bath in the bathtub, which you managed to poop in and we had to change the water.
  • We went to our first sit down restaurant with you. It was your Nonnie, Dad and I and we went to the Marmalade Cafe in Calabassas. You were perfect and we were able to sit outside and enjoy our breakfast.

Funniest Moment this Week: This has to go changing diapers. When your Nana was changing you, you managed to pee on me, your Nana, the couch and the dog. Not sure how that happened but we were all dying of laughter.
Your favorite toy: You love the yellow blanket and still the Christmas Tree and lights. Also you enjoy your bouncy seat.
Diapers: Currently you are wearing NB and the sensitive ones. Either you go through a lot of diapers or your Dad and I are not proficient enough to keep the diapers to a minimum. I think we will get there though. You have officially peed on everyone and everything when you get changed. You would think us Adults would have figured it out by now but we still are surprised and die of laughter every time the geyser comes a spraying.

Mommy Moments: It is completely baffling to me how attached I have come to you. The two times your Dad and I have left you, all I do is miss you. While we were in the movie I wanted to call your Nana three times to check on you. However, your Dad kept asurring me that you were ok and in good hands. I love our nap times together and dread nighttime. I so badly want you to sleep. We are going to read a book called Baby Wise that everyone is telling us to read and hopefully this will help. Also there is a DVD called the Happiest Baby on the block that I think we are going to buy. I have 5 more weeks left of maternity and I do not want to go back to work. You still seem too little to not have all my attention. I have been managing to be able to do things around the house while you sleep. And I even cooked dinner this week! It does not seem possible that you were never part of our life. We love you so much and our love just grows as you grow.

He is just precious!!! I can't believe he's 3 weeks old. What a beautiful baby he is. I love that he went on a pee fest on everything, Boys!
It sounds like everything is going good. Isn't it amazing, all of it. Even through the lack of sleep and adjusting how much you can love someone you just met in person.
