Celebration Dinner

My Brother, Hunter, graduated from UCLA this weekend. On Saturday evening, we held a celebration dinner. In Smith tradition, we went and ate at this amazing BBQ restaurant Wood Ranch. We have had Wood Ranch for every graduation that we have had in the Smith Household. So it was nice that we could carry it on again.

The other side

My long time close friend, Lindsay and her family, came out to help celebrate! Thanks Lindz:)

My Dad's side of the family also made it out. My grandparents and my Aunt and Uncle

It was so much fun to talk and hang out with Family and Friends. We missed Chris but he was there with his Bruin spirit. (I was so sick this day and it took everything in me to not throw up all over the food or the lovely people that were sitting around me at dinner)

Jump Rope and PJ's

My littlest sister Micah Mae had her year end Jump Rope Club performance. If you are wondering what Jump Rope Club is, it is every Wednesday after school and the kids get to learn how to jump rope and do really cool tricks. They have different levels that you can get to and if you get really good you can join the San Diego Jump Rope team and go to competitions. Micah is not at that level yet, she is just beginning and loves it.

The club got to perform for the school and the parents. Micah had a big showing! Me, Maddie, Mom and Dad, and Gran and Grandpa. She had the biggest smile the whole performance. She kept saying she wished Hunter and Chris were able to make it. But you know those boys they are off doing their things. (Hunter is taking finals and Chris playing the baseball)

Before the performance Micah and her friend were dancing to the music and being silly. It was fun to see her in her environment where she felt comfortable.

Performing for the kids in doubles

At the end they threw up their arms and received their applause.

Later in the afternoon, My Mom and I made a run to Costco and they had the cutest "Little Me" PJ's on sale. Now, I have not bought a thing for the baby yet. I have been resisting because I want to wait and find out the sex. However, this is my Mom's first grandchild and she could not resist. So she bought one of each. A beautiful flower one and then of course a little baseball one(this one was for Chris).

The whole night I kept staring at them, just in disbelief that these were for Chris and I, not for our nieces or nephews or my sisters but for our little one! I smiled all night.

Happy 12th Birthday Maddie

Today Maddie turns 12. I cannot believe this is the last year that she will not be a teenager. Oh to be her age again and be able to express that it is your birthday by the fun things she wore today! It feels like yesterday that she was asking for a marching band for her fourth birthday:)

Happy Birthday Madison! We love you:)

Cravings at a Baseball Game

For the women out there have been pregnant....I am not sure this has happened to you but while being pregnant if I start to crave something it does not leave my mind until either 1) I get what I am craving or 2) I start craving something else.

Well.....A craving came about at one of Chris's baseball game. There was a birthday party going on behind our seats. The mom had made these amazing looking cupcakes. They were decorated as little baseballs and the cutest things ever! I was eyeing them all game and once they passed them out to the mini baseball players at the game there were 5 left. I so badly wanted to go and ask her for one. But I thought it was rude and I could not bring myself to do it.

I must have kept talking about them because one of the wives', Stacey Yarbrough, dad went up to the lady and asked her if he could take one for me! He was my hero that night.....I loved every bite of it. It was brownie mix cupcake with melted chocolate chips in the batter and then the icing was homemade.

It was the best cupcake I have ever had:)
